Our Pastor

Fr. Daniel Bethancourt is our parish priest (presbyter).  Fr. Daniel received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John's College (Santa Fe Campus) after which he attended St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in Crestwood, NY, receiving an M.Div.  After graduating from St. Vladimir's, he spent a year working as the Director of Recruitment for the seminary, while his wife, Presvytera Maria, completed the M.A. program at the seminary.  The Bethancourts moved to Shreveport in June, 2008, and have served at St. Nicholas since then.  They have one son, Peter Basil, born shortly after their arrival in Shreveport.
